A rose is a rose is a rose ...is written by Gertrude Stein in 1913 and part of the poem "Sacred Emily". It became a famous statement and means "things are what they are" and the fact that simply using the name of a thing, in that case "rose" in repetition, already invokes the imagery and emotions associated with it.
